While rapists are indeed some of the worst life forms around, imposing a death sentence on them is not the answer. If you gave rapists the death penalty, rape victims would simply be murdered after the fact instead of being left alive.

Hannibal Lecter? Who did Jeff kill? He's not a murderer...even if he might have raped somebody, he doesn't deserve a murderer's sentence. I've seen murderers get lesser sentences.

Blue-eyed angel-I am not sure what your relation to Pelo is but it is not the detective's job to presume his innocence. It is his job to investigate the crime and interrogate suspects. The presumption of innocence lies with the court system, which obviously was convinced that Pelo is sick individual that single handedly brought a great deal of distress to many victims. He is a criminal and the system should now treat him as such. I hope he rots.

Shepherd and say " I didn't do it and here is why." Pelo never defended himself in court and no other rapes like what he has comitted have happened since? You are truly ignorant!

its obvious he is innocent from this interview alone just because of the simple fact not ONCE was he presummed innocent. There is this thing that America has forgot about called the Constitution and in it clearly states that you are innocent until proven guilty. Jeff was presummed guilty by Shepard, the police dept, and the prosecutors before he even got to a trial. Yes he is angry, but look what he was taken out of. Arrested in the middle of his lieutenates test among his peers, and then brought in with a co-worker and accused of all of this?! who the **** would be in a good mood due to that?! I believe in this mans innocence, and one day when justice prevails he will get out. Until then, you can say whatever you want to make yourselves feel better, but you dont know him or his family. One day their story will come to light.

No psych eval. needed. Why waste the money? He's going away for the rest of his life anyway, he'll never be in public again.

way to go Detective Shepherd job well done. Your professionalism and compassion in the interview was exceptional. Great job to all involved in putting this man where he belongs. My sincere and deepest sympathy goes out to the victims,his family and his wife. Hopefully now you all can go forward with your healing of this terrible ordeal.

Thank you for posting this video. When Pelo said, "I don't lead any sinister life of some kind." He said a mouthful then. I hope they do a complete forensic psych evaluation on this man.
